Full Job Description

The Evelina London Cleft Service would like to invite applications for the posts of Senior Clinical Fellow in Cleft Services. The post is based within Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust (which includes St Thomas' hospital, Guy's Hospital and Evelina London Children's Hospital), and will be offered on a six-month contract in the first instance, with potential to extend.

The successful candidate must be able to participate in a full range of activities including clinics (both in outreach centres and at the St Thomas' hub) and surgery. They will play a significant role in the management of patient pathways, including assisting with surgeries and clinics. There will be training opportunities in all aspects of cleft care.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a first-class team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment.

The Evelina London Cleft Service (previously known as the South Thames Cleft Service) was formed in 2000 following a report from the Clinical Standards Advisory Group in 1998 which recommended that the expertise and resources for cleft lip and palate services should be concentrated within a small number of designated centres throughout the UK. The ELCS provides highly specialised care to all patients with a cleft lip and/or palate in the South Thames region - South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

The service is currently delivered through outpatient and inpatient sites at Guys and St Thomas' Hospitals (and Evelina London Children's Hospital on the St Thomas' site) and out-reach clinics throughout the region. There are currently approximately 4500 active patients in the Cleft Service, with approximately 140 babies with cleft lip and/or palate being born each year in the network. The service follows the entire patient care pathway, from before the birth of the child through to twenty years old and to adults returning for further care.

£65,048 to £73,992 a year per annum dependant on experience
