Full Job Description

The postholder will work within the Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes service at King's College Hospital, providing clinical care for children and young people with endocrine and metabolic conditions. The post encompasses both inpatient and outpatient commitments and participation in the General Paediatric on-call rota. This is a replacement post. The remit of the postholder/s will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients within the service. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff., The postholder will be based within the Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes service and will be expected to:

  • Undertake daily review of Endocrine in-patients
  • Attend and participate in outpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology clinics (2-3 per week)
  • Receive and discuss Endocrine referrals from in-patients admitted under General Paediatrics, sub-specialty teams, and district general hospitals in the region
  • Supervise and collate results from in-patient dynamic function tests on the Day Ward (Philip Isaacs Day Treatment Ward)
  • Present cases at the monthly Pituitary MDT and weekly Endocrine Team meetings
  • Participate in the General Paediatric on-call rota (New Contract Compliant)
  • Attend the Transition/Adolescent Clinic (held twice monthly, jointly with adult endocrinology)

    £67,325 to £76,582 a year Per annum, plus London Zones £2,162 (Pro Rata)
