Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and proactive individual to join our team as a Senior Clinical Administrator. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of patient care, providing essential administrative support to our clinical team and helping to ensure patients receive timely and effective care. No two days are the same, and the successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly and teamwork is key. Working closely with GPs, clinicians, patients and external healthcare professionals, you will play an important role in supporting clinical processes, coordinating patient care and ensuring high-quality administrative standards are maintained throughout the practice. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, the ability to use their own initiative and a genuine commitment to providing excellent patient service. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills further within a supportive team and make a real difference to both colleagues and patients. Based at Highfield Surgery, the role will occasionally require cross-site working to support the needs of the practice.,

  • To assist clinicians in the administrative tasks required for clinical care. Completing and submitting documents on behalf of the GP and other clinicians.
  • To be a point of contact for fellow health professionals including nursing and residential homes, social services, ambulance, hospitals etc
  • To be the first point of contact in the event of patient death. Liaising with the family, funeral directors, and coroner, if required.
  • To produce community and mental health referrals for patients as appropriate.
  • Assist in the completion and submission of safeguarding paperwork.
  • To complete fit notes where clinically appropriate
  • Checking blood pressure results submitted by patients, calculating averages, and assessing against clinical guidelines alerting clinicians where readings are out of tolerance.
  • Support clinicians in requesting laboratory tests to monitor ongoing conditions and medications.
  • Action patient tasks and ensure prompt turnaround as per surgery protocol.
  • Chase up hospital appointments, results and other queries as required by clinicians.
  • Compiling chargeable To whom it may concern letters requested by patients.
  • Manage the Surgery website queries, referring on to appropriate department or dealing with queries.
  • To undertake any other reasonable work when requested.
