Full Job Description

Manage the delivery of a highly specialised Clinical Physiology department for the Trust, ensuring that the service is effective and well-co-ordinated

Manage highly complex invasive and non-invasive investigations as an expert practitioner within the context of a multi-disciplinary team.

Ensure clinical appropriate access to the facilities by cardiology departments and by clinical teams across the Trust.

Be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the unit and all relevant duties.

Encourage, implement and take a full role in departmental and individual projects, with a commitment to research based clinical practice.

Participate in the delivery of core and specialist training to staff on a range of subjects relating to Clinical Physiology.

In conjunction with the Lead Clinicians, Service Manager and Associate Director of Operations assist with development and design of the departmental business plan.

Carry out administrative duties related to Clinical Physiology as required, booking appointments, ensuring accurate data entry onto Epic

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Chief Cardiac Physiologist to provide professional leadership across the cardiac physiology service. The post holder will possess extensive knowledge of clinical cardiac physiology services, with a thorough understanding of service demands, workforce planning, and operational management.

The successful candidate will combine expert clinical knowledge with strong managerial and leadership skills, ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of services. They will be responsible for overseeing clinical workload management, service development, quality improvement initiatives, staff performance, and operational delivery within a complex healthcare environment.
