Full Job Description
The Audiologist will undertake all routine audiological and rehabilitation procedures, including direct referrals for hearing aids and open access from GPs. Ensure provision of a comprehensive service to patients referred to the department from GPs and consultants including the provision of the full range of NHS aids including digital aids. Undertake ENT outpatient clinics at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals supporting the Consultant ENT surgeons. Assist with the clinical supervision of students. Keep updated with professional knowledge and new technology., Take a medical case history to exclude pathologies that require a medical opinion, and informs which audiometric tests are appropriate. Safely and accurately undertake appropriate test regimes for school age children and adults with hearing disorders including direct referrals from GPs. Analyse and interpret test results. Provide appropriate reports for clinicians and GPs. Provide recommendations as appropriate with respect to further patient management. Provide re/habilitation of adults with hearing disorders including care planning and specialist advice including complex cases.Select appropriate hearing aids and prescription formulae based on the needs, assessment and diagnostic test results.
