Full Job Description

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative and ambitious team, working closely with partners and senior lawyers on high-quality work, while also taking ownership of your own caseload. You will be encouraged to develop your profile, contribute to business development and play a key role in the continued growth of the Manchester practice.

Responsibilities

Manage your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters, with appropriate supervision on more complex cases

Support Partners on high-value and complex litigation

Draft key legal documents including pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss and settlement documentation

Instruct and liaise with counsel, medical experts and other third parties

Maintain regular client contact, handling matters with sensitivity and professionalism

Progress claims from inception through to settlement or trial, ensuring excellent client outcomes

Contribute to business development, including networking, marketing initiatives and building your professional profile

Supervise and mentor junior team members where appropriate

Maintain accurate file management and comply with internal processes and regulatory requirements

UK qualified solicitor with typically 7+ PQE

Demonstrable experience in claimant clinical negligence work

Strong technical ability with experience handling complex and/or high-value claims

Excellent drafting, analytical and case management skills

Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients, experts and colleagues

Enthusiastic team player with commitment to quality and client care.

Good case management skills.

Strong academics is essential.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a real commitment and empathetic approach to Claimants.
