Senior Assistant Technical Officer - St Thomas' Dispensary

An exciting opportunity has presented for a self-motivated, proactive and hard working individual to join our team in St Thomas' inpatient dispensary. The post-holder will work closely with other Senior Assistant Technical officers to help provide core support to dispensary staff, demonstrate comprehensive communication and assist in the dispensing of medicines to in-patients and the supply of discharge medications in line with CQC standards., The main duties of a Senior Assistant Technical Officer;

• Assisting with reception and phone duties
• Answering and resolving complex queries from doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals
• Dispensing inpatient and Discharge medications
• Dispensing controlled drugs using our controlled drug omnicell cabinet
• Basic understanding of controlled drug medication and legalities
• Returning/ Discarding of medication following procedures
• Ordering, monitoring and stocking the Dispensary appliances daily
• Dispensary stock checks
• Rotation of stock to ensure minimal stock loss
• Omnicell cabinet counts for ward stock/Departments
• Dispensing of inpatient and discharge medication
