Full Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Senior Assistant Psychologist to join our friendly and supportive Specialist Eating Disorders Team (EDT) working with children, young people and families across Hampshire. This is a really varied role offering the opportunity to work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team including psychology, psychiatry, nursing, dietetics, family therapy and support workers. You will gain experience supporting young people with a range of eating difficulties including Anorexia Nervosa, ARFID and other eating disorder presentations. The role will involve leading and supporting direct clinical work, psychological interventions, groups, outcome measures, formulations, service evaluation and psychologically informed MDT working. There will be opportunities to develop skills in working systemically with families, understanding eating disorders from a developmental and biopsychosocial perspective, and contributing to innovative service development. We are looking for someone who is warm, motivated, reflective and genuinely passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people and families. Please note if we receive a high volume of applications we will close the advert early.Main duties of the job To undertake assessments and interventions (including neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect observations and semi-structured interviews of clients, family members and others involved in the clients care).
- To assist in the development of psychologically based frameworks of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service.
- To formulate and deliver care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client's problems within settings where there may be a hostile atmosphere, challenging behaviour, or high levels of expressed emotion.
- To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups.
