Senior Analytics Engineer

As we move to consolidate all our data sources into one, these roles will sit between the data and analytics team where you'll transform staged data into trusted, well modelled datasets and semantic layers that directly support decision making across the business. It's about data modelling, data quality and analytical usability by owning the gold layer and making sure what reaches the BI team is trusted.

What you'll be doing

- Design and maintain scalable dimensional models and high-performing Gold layers optimized for Power BI

- Define data grains, relationships, and historization strategies to translate business requirements into documented models

- Act as data gatekeeper by profiling datasets and implementing validation rules to ensure accuracy and consistency

- Collaborate with engineers to resolve quality issues and maintain integrity across the data pipeline

- Build optimized, reusable semantic layers to standardize metrics and eliminate duplication across reporting tools

- Partner with analysts to ensure data models are intuitive, performant, and aligned with end-user needs (Commercial, Finance, Operations etc)

Deep SQL expertise, including complex transformations, window functions and performance tuning in a cloud environment

- Proven experience designing analytical or data warehouse models

- Strong dimensional modelling knowledge such as Kimball approaches, star schemas and aggregates

- Hands on ownership of curated data layers used by the business

- Strong understanding of data quality, profiling and validation techniques

Nice to haves

- Experience with Databricks or similar platforms

- Familiarity with Delta Lake and lakehouse patterns

- Python for analysis, profiling or orchestration logic

- Exposure to Azure data services such as ADF or Azure SQL
