Full Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our T&O team on ward 7 in Princess of Wales Hospital Bridgend, specialising in elective arthroplasty. The role requires the clinician to work within the four pillars of Advanced Practice: Clinical management of patients (autonomous assessment/investigation/diagnosis and management to include non-medical independent prescribing) Leadership - lead on service developments and change, support the health boards agenda around Advanced Practice, providing clinical leadership to MDT members. Education- provide education mentorship and support to a wide multi-professional audience. Research- demonstrate use of evidence based practice and lead on service specific research (QIP/Audit). Post operative medical management and care of all Orthopaedic patients admitted to the Orthopaedic elective ward at Princess of Wales Hospital (PoWH) for surgery. Participate in the management of Trauma patients admitted to PoWH and the RGH, including performing investigation, interpretation of same and participation in discharge planning. Decide on and carry out treatment, which may include the prescribing of medicines , or referring patient to an appropriate specialist. Assess and evaluate, with patients and/ or carers, effectiveness of treatment and care provided and make changes as needed., The ACP will be expected to provide clinical care pre operatively and post operatively of patients admitted to the elective arthroplasty ward. They will provide comprehensive assessment and clinical care using a range of clinical assessment skills and knowledge. Lead on service development. Provide leadership to MDT members and band 7 ACPs. Support and lead on relevant HB strategy groups Education - develop and deliver educational packages to a multi-professional audience. Provide mentorship to trainee ACPs. Maintain own level of education Research - lead on relevant research/audit/SE/QiP's Work across professional organisational and system boundaries and proactively develop and sustain new partnerships and networks to influence and improve health, outcomes and healthcare delivery systems.

This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates.
