Full Job Description
As our SENDCo, you will work closely with our Executive Headteacher (St James' CE Primary School & Roxton CE Academy) & Headteacher (Ravensden CE Academy), senior leaders, teachers, support staff, pupils and families to drive high-quality inclusive practice, strengthen provision and improve outcomes for children with additional needs., The successful candidate will:
- Lead SEND provision across three DSAMAT primary schools.
- Ensure statutory SEND requirements are met consistently and effectively.
- Support early identification, assessment and intervention for pupils with additional needs.
- Oversee EHCP applications, annual reviews and multi-agency working.
- Develop staff knowledge and confidence through coaching, mentoring and professional development.
- Work collaboratively with school leaders to improve inclusive classroom practice and adaptive teaching.
- Analyse SEND data to monitor progress, identify trends and drive improvement.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, external agencies and local authority services.
- Champion a culture where every child is valued, supported and enabled to achieve their full potential.
Holds the National Award for SEND Coordination. - Has substantial experience as a SENDCo in a primary school setting.
- Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
- Has a proven track record of improving outcomes for children with SEND.
- Is an outstanding communicator who works effectively with families, colleagues and external professionals.
- Can think strategically while maintaining a strong focus on individual pupils.
