Full Job Description

We are seeking to employ a SENDCO to drive high standards of inclusive excellence across our school. You will provide expert leadership for SEND provision, support and advice for staff across the school and you will teach children in the Lighthouse (inclusion) unit.
We are looking for a practitioner who:
+ Is a highly skilled teacher with drive and aspiration for all.
+ Is reflective and balances high expectations with empathy.
+ Has a good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the graduated approach.
+ Will show resilience, emotional intelligence, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations., + A degree in relevant subject.
+ QTS.
+ Have achieved or willingness to complete or working towards NPQ SENCO qualification.
+ Relevant safeguarding and child protection training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly.
Essential Experience
+ Experience of working with pupils with SEND, and pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
+ Experience working alongside SLT to develop the quality of the curriculum and learning activities.
+ Experience co-ordinating provision for children with SEND.
+ Experience of behaviour management techniques for groups and individuals with SEND.
+ Experience working effectively with colleagues to improve classroom practice.
+ A vibrant and forward-thinking team.
+ Excellent peer support and professional development.
+ A wonderful environment that enriches the curriculum.
+ A tremendously spacious site which offers a fabulous environment for our pupils to explore their potential and release it.
+ Supportive Headteacher, Governors and staff.
