SEND Tutor - Herefordshire

Quantum Scholars is looking for a supportive, patient and reliable 1:1 SEND Tutor to work with a young person in Herefordshire. This is an in-person tutoring role and is not online work.
The role will involve providing personalised educational support to a student who may benefit from a flexible and individualised approach to learning. You will be expected to build a positive and trusting relationship with the student, adapt your teaching to their individual needs and help develop their confidence, engagement and progress.
The role may involve
+ Delivering one-to-one tuition tailored to the student's individual needs
+ Supporting the student across core academic subjects where appropriate
+ Planning engaging and accessible learning activities
+ Adapting teaching approaches to suit different abilities, learning needs and levels of engagement
+ Helping the student develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning
+ Providing encouragement and consistent support to help the student re-engage with education
+ Monitoring progress and providing appropriate feedback
+ Working collaboratively with parents, carers and relevant professionals where required
+ Maintaining clear and professional communication
+ Following safeguarding procedures at all times

+ Experience working with children or young people with SEND in an educational, tutoring or support setting
+ Experience providing one-to-one or personalised educational support
+ The ability to adapt learning and teaching approaches to meet individual needs
+ Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
+ A patient, flexible, calm and supportive approach
+ A genuine commitment to helping young people achieve their potential
+ A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
+ Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check, where required
+ Satisfactory professional references
+ You must have the right to work in the UK.
