SEND Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Tamworth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND/ SEMH) and making a positive impact within the classroom.,

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Support students with additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities
• Help implement individual learning plans and behaviour strategies
• Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
• Support students with emotional and behavioural needs where required
  
  Previous experience working with children with SEN/SEMH is essential
• Experience within a school, care, or support setting preferred
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt support to individual pupil needs
• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred (or willingness to obtain one)
  
  Monday to Friday (No weekends)
08:30am - 15:30pm Please note the school is hiring for a mix of full-time, and part-time positions. Part-Time would consist of working 2, 3 or 4 full days per week. Full-Time is 5 days per week, Monday to Friday.
