Full Job Description
A welcoming and supportive specialist SEND provision in Middleton is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of additional needs, with a strong focus on supporting their academic, social and emotional development. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils throughout the school day, helping to create a positive learning environment and building strong, trusting relationships with pupils. Key responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
- Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and social development
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils manage their emotions
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting classroom activities and adapting tasks to meet individual needs
- Working closely with teachers and the wider support team
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and looking to make a positive impact within a specialist SEND setting. The successful applicant will: - Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an education or SEND setting
- Have a calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Be confident building positive relationships with pupils
- Be proactive, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Have full-time availability
- Hold a valid Child Workforce DBS or be willing to obtain one
- SEND experience or relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
