Full Job Description
TLSA is recruiting for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a successful Mainstream Secondary School in Forest Gate from September. This full time, long term role involves supporting students with Autism, ADHD, and Learning disabilities within the school's SEND department. The ideal SEND TA will have experience supporting secondary-aged pupils and be passionate about helping young people achieve both academically and personally. Daily Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting students with Autism, ADHD, and Learning disabilities
- Assisting students to access the curriculum across a range of subjects
- Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
- Promoting independence and organisational skills
- Supporting social interaction and confidence-building
- Working closely with teaching staff and the SENDCO
- Monitoring progress and recording interventions
- Supporting students during exams, enrichment activities, and school events
Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant or SEND TA - Experience supporting Autism, ADHD, and Learning disabilities
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to motivate and engage secondary-aged students
