Full Job Description

At Oulton, we think for ourselves and care for each other and we are proud to be an inclusive school. As a school, we celebrate everybody's individual abilities, strengths, and learning journey. From Easter 2026, we are looking for experienced teaching assistants (30 hours per week) to join our team as we continue to expand our bespoke inclusion unit within the school. The aim of our provision is to complement the learning that pupils with complex SEND needs receive by providing a blend of personalised, 1-1/small group learning experiences whilst enabling pupils to access aspects of the wider year group curriculum. By providing specific support to develop these pupils' learning, social and emotional skills, it is our aim that they can remain actively engaged in wider school life. The successful candidate, working alongside a SEND teacher and the school's SENDCo, will be part of a small team of support staff to ensure that pupils receive the targeted support they need. This an exciting opportunity for the right people to take key roles in our provision. The posts are suitable for support staff who have a solid understanding/experience of supporting children with SEND/SEMH needs. Candidates need to have a passion for supporting pupils with SEND. We do demand a lot but our children deserve the best, so we need the best people to bring their enthusiasm, experience, skills and commitment to Oulton. Our vision for our SEND provision is difficult to explain in an advert so we warmly invite interested candidates to contact the school to find out more and to discuss the role. Appointments to visit the school can be arranged on request.
