SEND Teacher

We're looking for a passionate and dedicatedSEN Teacher to join our specialist team and create meaningful learning experiences for students with additional needs. This is more than a teaching role. It's an opportunity to build confidence, inspire curiosity and help young people overcome barriers to learning. You'll have the freedom to tailor your approach, celebrate every achievement and make a genuine difference to students who benefit from a personalised and nurturing environment.
Working alongside skilled education, therapy and support colleagues, you'll play a key role in helping students develop the knowledge, skills and self-belief they need for the future.
Whether you're an experienced SEN Teacher or a qualified teacher looking to move into specialist education, you'll find a supportive environment where your ideas, creativity and expertise are valued.
What you will be doing
Deliver engaging, personalised lessons that meet the diverse needs of students.
Create a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment where students can succeed.
Adapt teaching approaches to support individual learning styles, needs and outcomes.
Build strong relationships that develop confidence, resilience and independence.
Track progress and use assessment to inform next steps and celebrate achievement.
Work collaboratively with families, therapists and support staff to provide holistic support.
Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing growth of the school.
Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every student.

QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification required.
GCSEs in English, Maths and Science required
Delivers creative, engaging and adaptable teaching.
Builds positive, trusting relationships with young people and colleagues.
Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Maintains high expectations while recognising every student's individual journey.
Experience with students with SEND is an advantage

Bower Lodge School is a specialist day school in Dibden, Southampton, for boys and girls aged 4-11 with a diagnosis of autism and complex learning, communication, and sensory needs.
With capacity for 40 students, we provide a small, nurturing, and inclusive environment. Our approach is tailored to each child's individual strengths and needs. Through personalised learning and high levels of support, we help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
