SEND & Inclusion Wellbeing Practitioner / Family Support Permanent, 36 hours per week, term-time plus five INSET days, 08:00-16:00 with a 48-minute unpaid break LGS Scale 5, Points 11-15, £31,074 to £32,931 (full time equivalent) Starts: Monday 01st September 2025 Applications close: Sunday 29 June 2025 Interviews in the week beginning Monday 30 June 2025 Lampton School is a large, mixed, multi-ethnic 11-18 school. We were judged as "outstanding" in all categories by Ofsted in 2005, 2008, 2013 and 2024. We are the lead school for the London West Alliance and a SCITT in partnership with the University of Roehampton. We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic SEND & Inclusion Wellbeing Practitioner / Family Support to assist the AHT Inclusion in the provision of a complimentary service to existing teachers/pastoral staff in school; to support the safeguarding, wellbeing and educational progress of identified students to ensure they achieve their potential by overcoming barriers to learning both inside and outside school. Responsibilities would include:

  • To run regular check-ins with the most vulnerable students and their families, and to work directly with parents and the wider families of students with various concerns.
  • To support students, SEND and wellbeing needs through delivering mentoring sessions and small group interventions to identified students designated to build confidence and resilience so that students are able to manage their own dilemmas, resolve their own difficulties and prevent further problems in the future.
  • To provide support for parents to include running parental groups and workshops, sign posting to external services and providing ongoing supporting parents/carers.
  • To work closely with students and families who are hard to reach or disengaged by offering a bespoke support programme to improve engagement and outcomes.
  • To carry out home visits, to support students, building a rapport and an open dialogue with parents/carers to support their child's attendance.
  • To oversee interventions based on late and nonattendance to school: to be responsible for EBSNA pupils.
  • To assist with the transition programme for students. In particular students with SEND including SEMH and those who may find transition difficult.
  • To undertake Safeguarding training.
  • To help coordinate and maintain the high level of administration of the Inclusion team by producing oral and written reports for access arrangements and the progress of students with inclusion needs.
  • To liaise with internal and external specialists to support students and their families and attend meetings where necessary.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of interventions on students' wellbeing and attainment to understand what is working and work with the inclusion team to make improvements.
  • Contribute to the staff and parents' newsletter and other related publications.
  • To attend school-based meetings and establish effective communication channels that allows all involved agencies to be aware of the academic, social and emotional support available for students.
  • To attend training to acquire knowledge and maintain accurate understanding of best practice in school SEMH, EBSNA and Wellbeing and to lead training for other members of staff as appropriate.
  • To provide support, guidance and training for staff, students and parents
  • To act as a link member of staff for outside agencies and parents of pupils identified for particular behaviour/learning support.
  • To promote the inclusion of all students.
  • To assist with the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of pupil learning profiles.
