Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic HLTA to lead our SEND/nurture room provision. The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, deliver targeted interventions, and help create a calm, inclusive environment where pupils can thrive. Experience of working with SEND, SEMH, and nurture-based practice is highly desirable. The successful candidate must:

  • Hold HLTA status or have equivalent relevant experience and training.
  • Have experience of supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Have experience of working within a nurture, inclusion, or pastoral setting.
  • Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and support their emotional wellbeing.
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • Be able to deliver targeted interventions and adapt support to meet individual needs.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, including with the SENCO, teachers, pastoral staff, and senior leaders.
  • Be highly organised, reflective, and able to maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil monitoring.
  • Show a strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and high expectations for all pupils.
  • Be confident in leading small-group and whole-class learning when required.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the primary curriculum
