SENCO, Inclusion Lead, Designated Safeguarding Lead

Reporting to the Headteacher and the Nursery's Deputy Head, you will lead the strategy and day-to-day delivery of SEND provision across the school. You will also serve as Designated Safeguarding Lead and Senior Mental Health Lead.
+ Lead and develop SEND policy and provision across the school, from pre-reception onwards.
+ Maintain the SEND register and provision map, and monitor provision through the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle.
+ Coordinate support for pupils with SEND, including EHCP reviews, transitions and access arrangements.
+ Advise and train colleagues on quality-first teaching, interventions and the graduated approach.
+ Work closely with families, the local authority and external education, health and social care professionals.
+ Analyse assessment information, evaluate interventions and advise on effective use of staffing and resources.
+ Lead and manage teaching assistants supporting pupils with SEND.
+ Oversee mental health and wellbeing support, including the Zones of Regulation and daily mindfulness practice.
+ Promote a culture of inclusion, safeguarding, equality and high expectations for every pupil.

You will be an experienced teacher and effective whole-school leader who combines strategic thinking with practical, pupil-focused support.
+ Qualified Teacher Status and a degree.
+ At least five years' teaching experience.
+ National Award for SEN Coordination or another suitable qualification. Applications are also welcome from candidates who are willing to complete the required qualification within three years of appointment.
+ Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, quality-first teaching and effective intervention strategies.
+ Experience of whole-school development, self-evaluation and leading staff training or INSET.
+ Ability to communicate effectively, build strong working relationships, influence others appropriately, maintain accurate records and use data to inform decisions.
+ A clear commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, equal opportunities and excellent outcomes for pupils with SEND.
