- Additional Information: Start date: November 2026 Aurora Peartree is opening its doors in January 2027, and we're looking for an experienced SENCO Assistant to help make this vision a reality. This is a rare opportunity to be part of something truly transformative. Aurora Peartree will be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school for children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a capacity of 120 students, our vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive. Your Role As our SENCo Assistant, you'll provide administrative and organisational support to the SENCO, helping to ensure effective whole-school SEN provision through the coordination of EHCP reviews, provision mapping, timetabling and related systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Support the SENDCo in promoting an inclusive approach to SEN across the school.
- Assist with the Annual Review process and maintain effective links with Local Authorities and external professionals.
- Support the planning and delivery of high-quality, differentiated learning experiences.
- Help the SENDCo deliver CPD and share key SEN information with staff and stakeholders.
- Work with education, clinical teams, students and parents to ensure IEPs, risk assessments and SEN documentation are accurate, up to date and effective. Essential Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
- Strong IT skills
- Willingness to complete relevant qualifications Essential Experience
- Experience supporting children with SEN, ASD, ADHD or SEMH needs
- Understanding of safeguarding, KCSIE and child protection procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of autism and mental health challenges faced by young people
