This is an exciting opportunity to lead and further develop our SEND provision across the school. The role is offered on a part-time basis (2 days per week) for one academic year, with the potential to become a permanent full-time SENCO/Class Teacher position, subject to school needs. You will lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Working closely with staff, parents and external agencies, you will play a key role in promoting an inclusive culture where all pupils can achieve their full potential., The main purpose of the role is to lead, develop and coordinate the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that every child is supported to achieve their full potential within an inclusive learning environment. The SENCO will work collaboratively with staff, families, governors and external agencies to promote high-quality teaching, effective intervention and outstanding outcomes for all pupils with SEND., Strategic Leadership

• Lead the strategic development of SEND across the school in line with the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
• Develop, implement and regularly review the school's SEND policy and provision.
• Promote an inclusive culture where every child is valued and supported to succeed.
• Contribute to the School Development Plan and wider school improvement priorities.
Identification and Assessment
• Coordinate the identification, assessment and monitoring of pupils with SEND.
• Oversee the graduated approach to SEND, ensuring high-quality SEN Support Plans are in place and regularly reviewed.
• Lead the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process, including applications, reviews and liaison with the Local Authority.
• Monitor pupil progress and evaluate the impact of interventions using assessment information.
Teaching and Learning
• Support teachers in delivering high-quality adaptive teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
• Provide advice, coaching and professional development for staff to strengthen inclusive classroom practice.
• Coordinate targeted interventions and ensure they are monitored for effectiveness.
• Promote evidence-informed approaches to improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.
Partnership Working
• Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, ensuring they are fully involved in decision-making.
• Liaise effectively with external professionals, including Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Health Services and the Local Authority.
• Coordinate multi-agency meetings where appropriate.
Leadership and Management
• Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date SEND records in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Prepare reports for governors and senior leaders on SEND provision and pupil outcomes.
• Manage SEND resources effectively to ensure value for money and maximum impact.
• Keep up to date with national developments in SEND and share best practice with colleagues.

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is working towards it).
• Has a thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation.
• Has experience of identifying pupils' needs, coordinating provision and managing the EHCP process.
• Can advise, support and develop colleagues to deliver high-quality inclusive teaching.
• Is able to monitor and evaluate interventions to ensure positive outcomes for pupils.
• Builds strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and external professionals.
• Is organised, proactive and committed to ensuring every child receives the very best support.
