SEN Teaching Assistants

As part of our continued growth, Ashley Park School is looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team. This is an opportunity to provide practical, day-to-day support that helps pupils feel safe, valued and able to learn. Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and a multidisciplinary team, you will support pupils with additional needs through a consistent approach to learning, care and wellbeing. Every day is different, and your contribution helps ensure pupils make progress at a pace that supports their individual needs. What You'll Be Doing

• Support teachers in delivering learning activities that are accessible and personalised.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum and work towards individual goals.
• Support pupils' communication, independence, confidence and social development.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with the planning, implementation and review of individual support plans and learning activities.
• Prepare classroom resources and support engaging learning environments.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals to provide consistent support.
• Maintain accurate records while supporting safeguarding, health and safety and pupil wellbeing.
  
  Previous experience of working with children with SEN, or relevant SEN qualifications, is beneficial but not essential; training and support will be provided.

• A positive team player with effective communication and relationship-building skills.
• Adaptable and resilient, able to respond confidently to individual pupil needs.
• Willing to learn, develop and work towards further professional qualifications.
  
  Ashley Park School is located in the market town on the south bank of the Thames in the borough of Surrey, within the Greater London built-up area. The school is accessible via a range of transport routes. The specialist school caters for young people with complex communication needs, autism and associated learning and emotional needs.
The school's aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, enabling pupils to access a broad, balanced, engaging and rich curriculum. For over 16 years, Options Autism has provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
