Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only UES1 A specialist secondary SEN provision in Uxbridge is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This is a highly rewarding role supporting young people with complex medical, physical, and learning needs in a structured and nurturing environment. About the Role As a Secondary PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with PMLD Support pupils with communication, engagement, and sensory-based learning Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility support Use specialist equipment and follow care plans to support physical needs Work closely with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals Implement EHCP targets and individual support programmes Help create a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment Requirements Experience supporting pupils with PMLD or complex SEN needs Manual
Handling training - essential Confident supporting personal care and physical needs Understanding of sensory learning and communication approaches Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach Strong teamwork and communication skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service - essential Desirable Experience working with secondary-aged pupils Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or AAC systems Background in care, healthcare, or specialist education What's on Offer ASAP or September start available Supportive, experienced multidisciplinary team Opportunities for training and development Well-resourced specialist setting A rewarding role making a real impact on students' quality of life and independence
