SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience The Supply Register is seeking a compassionate, resilient, and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student 1:1 with additional learning needs at Sylvester Primary Academy. This full-time role is ideal for someone with experience in Special Educational Needs who is confident supporting a learner with Autism, ADHD and managing challenging behaviour. About the Role You will work on a one-to-one basis with a ale student who requires consistent support to access learning, regulate emotions, and engage positively in the school environment. You will play a vital role in helping the student develop confidence, independence, and strategies for managing behaviour. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one support to a student with ASD, ADHD and additional needs. Use a calm, patient, and proactive approach to help manage challenging behaviour. Support the student in accessing classwork and maintaining engagement in lessons. Work closely with

teaching staff and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and interventions. Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. Record observations and contribute to support plans when required. Promote positive relationships, emotional regulation, and resilience. Requirements Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs. Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills. Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students. Resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the welfare of students. Relevant qualifications (e.g., TA, SEN, or behaviour training) are desirable but not essential. Why Work with The Supply Register?
