SEN Teaching Assistant Job Role: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) Location: Watford, Hertfordshire Start Date: ASAP Salary: £85.50 - £120 per day Contract Type: Full time Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 student with additional needs. You will be joining a friendly team, working collaboratively to ensure that
students with additional needs are fully included in school life. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will be pivotal in supporting the learning and personal development of a Year 1 child with special educational needs. The Role: Provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 student with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and progress in their learning.
Assist with the child's social, emotional, and behavioural development, ensuring a supportive and safe environment.
Work alongside the class teacher to adapt resources and provide personalised support based on the child's needs.
Promote the student's independence, supporting them in developing confidence and a positive attitude towards learning.
Track and record the child's progress, ensuring communication is maintained between the teaching team and other professionals involved.
Be part of a collaborative team that ensures the child receives the support they need to thrive in school.

What We're Looking For: Experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 SEN support role.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

A sound understanding of SEN and the strategies used to support children with learning challenges.
A team player who can work collaboratively to meet the child's needs and contribute to the school's ethos of inclusion.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a range of responsibilities effectively.
