Academics are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Canterbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a setting that prioritises support, structure, and positive outcomes for its students. The Role: SEN Teaching Assistant As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students who may present with challenging behaviour and require additional emotional and behavioural support. Your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students
  • Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Assisting in the delivery of engaging, tailored lessons
  • Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams

    Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, coaching, etc.)
  • A calm, resilient and patient approach
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
