Full Job Description

We are a warm, friendly and welcoming school seeking a passionate SEN Teacher to support our young learners with autism and complex needs. Our students thrive when they are understood, encouraged and given the right support to succeed, and we're looking for someone who shares that belief. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a dedicated and supportive team where relationships matter, achievements are celebrated, and every day brings the chance to help students build confidence, independence and life-long skills. You'll deliver engaging, personalised learning that meets the individual needs of each student, helping them achieve outcomes they may never have thought possible. Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists and families, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where every student can flourish. What you will be doing

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students with autism and complex needs.
  • Monitor progress and adapt learning to meet individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
  • Create and review personalised learning, behaviour and support plans.
  • Foster a positive, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and families to support student success.
  • Promote students' academic, social, emotional and independence skills.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school improvement.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students at all times.

    QTS or equivalent required.
  • Experience teaching students with autism, SEND and complex learning profiles.
  • A patient, resilient and compassionate approach to teaching.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated and personalised learning strategies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passionate about helping every student achieve their potential

Opened in September 2024, Brinksway School is a purpose-built Primary and Secondary SEN school for 55 students aged 4-13 with autism and complex needs. Located in Stockport, Greater Manchester, our refurbished, specialist building supports learning, independence, and wellbeing.
  • At Brinksway School, we passionately nurture each student's potential. Our curriculum is tailored to individual needs, aiming not only for academic success but also for growth in confidence, self-esteem, and life skills. We aspire to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to flourish. At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer. We support students with a wide range of complex, co-occurring and neurodivergent needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and communication needs, dyslexia and experiences of trauma or adversity. We are proud to be a part of OFG Education who in 2025 were officially certified as a 'Great Place to Work' for the sixth year running.

We place students and vulnerable young adults at the heart of everything we do, so every day brings the satisfaction of making a real difference. We are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and young people. All applicants will be subject to social media checks and successful applicants to a fully enhanced DBS.
