Working with pupils with a range of additional needs, you'll create engaging learning experiences that build confidence, encourage independence and celebrate every success, no matter how small. As an SEN Teacher, you'll deliver creative and personalised learning that meets the individual needs of our pupils, helping them to develop academically, socially and emotionally. You'll inspire curiosity, motivate learners and adapt your teaching to enable every young person to experience success. Whether you're teaching within the classroom, delivering small-group interventions or supporting our outreach provision, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping brighter futures. You will use assessment and data intelligently to monitor progress, identify next steps and ensure that every pupil receives the support and challenge they need to flourish. What You'll Be Doing

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for individuals, small groups and classes in line with the school's curriculum framework.
  • Deliver one-to-one teaching off-site as part of the school's outreach programme where required.
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and drive positive outcomes.
  • Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Plans and personalised learning programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, Tutors and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide consistent support.
  • Build positive, restorative relationships that encourage confidence, resilience and self-regulation.
  • Create stimulating learning environments that inspire curiosity and promote achievement.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare, safety and wellbeing of every pupil.
  • Contribute to school improvement initiatives and the wider life of the school.
  • Keep up to date with educational developments and best practice within SEND.

  • A qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for young people with SEND.
  • An outstanding classroom practitioner who can inspire and motivate learners.
  • Experienced in working with pupils with additional needs and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
  • Committed to building strong, restorative relationships with pupils and families.
  • Creative, adaptable and solution-focused in their approach to teaching.
  • Calm, resilient and approachable, with the ability to thrive in a rewarding and sometimes challenging environment.
  • An excellent communicator with a sense of humour and a collaborative mindset.
  • Confident using assessment information to track progress and raise standards.
  • In possession of a full UK driving licence (desirable to support outreach activities).
