Full Job Description
Monkspath School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, skilled and caring SEN Support Assistant to join our friendly and experienced team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a large, values-driven primary school where inclusion and high-quality support for all learners are at the heart of what we do. This role will primarily be based in Reception, supporting an individual child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You will also contribute to wider class and group support and interventions and may work across other year groups during the academic year, depending on need.
- Has a passion for working with young children with additional needs, particularly in the early years
- Has the skills and understanding to deliver individualised support, including one-to-one and small group interventions
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of how young children learn and develop, particularly in communication, language, early literacy and personal, social and emotional development
- Is able to model our school values and nurture positive relationships with children, staff and families
- Works effectively and flexibly as part of a committed team
- Is reflective, proactive, and keen to learn
- Has a relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and ideally experience of working with children with EHCPs or additional needs in a primary setting In return, we offer:
