Full Job Description
At Penny Tree School, we do things differently. We're looking for a passionate SEN Humanities Instructor to join our dedicated team and help transform the lives of young people with complex needs. Through engaging lessons in History, Geography and Humanities, you'll help pupils develop confidence, resilience, independence and a genuine love of learning. This role is about far more than teaching a subject. It's about building relationships, understanding individual needs, and helping pupils overcome barriers to education. Working with small class sizes and a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll have the time and flexibility to adapt learning, celebrate progress and make a real difference every day. Whether you're an experienced instructor, teacher, tutor or have worked within alternative provision or specialist education, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver engaging Humanities lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Inspire pupils through creative and practical learning experiences.
- Support learners with SEND to achieve their academic and personal goals.
- Create a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Monitor progress and contribute to individual learning plans.
- Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and colleagues.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Safeguard and champion the welfare of every pupil.
Have experience working with young people, ideally within SEND, specialist education, alternative provision or similar settings. - Are passionate about supporting pupils who require a more personalised approach to learning.
- Can engage, motivate and build positive relationships with young people.
- Are adaptable, patient and resilient.Have strong communication and teamwork skills.

Our new Options Autism school Penny Tree, will have capacity for up to 100 pupils and is expected to open for students in the near future.
