Security Operations Centre (SOC) Lead

The SOC Lead will be responsible for leading and developing the Trust's Security Operations capability, ensuring effective monitoring, detection, investigation and response to cyber security threats across the organisation.

The role is accountable for the day to day operation and continuous improvement of SOC services, including the management of security monitoring tools, development of detection use cases, and coordination of incident response activities. This includes working closely with national services (e.g. NHS England CSOC) and internal teams to ensure timely detection and mitigation of threats.

The post holder will drive maturity of the Trust's threat detection and response capability, embedding best practice across incident management, threat intelligence, and threat hunting, while ensuring alignment with organisational risk priorities and regulatory requirements.

Working in partnership with technical cybersecurity teams and Digital teams, the SOC Lead will ensure that security operations are intelligence led, outcome focussed and support the Trust in reducing cyber risk and improving resilience.

The role will also provide leadership to the SOC and wider cyber security function, developing team capability (including identifying training needs, mentorship and creating tabletop training) establishing clear processes and ensuring the Trust can respond effectively to an evolving threat landscape., Leads the Trust's SOC function, overseeing security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response; drives threat intelligence and proactive hunting; optimises SOC tooling and detection capability; and manages team performance, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement of security operations.
