Security Officer (Security Guard

To protect our customer's property, people and assets by providing professional security services in accordance with site Assignment Instructions and customer requirements.

You will be responsible for delivering a professional and effective service that supports contract retention, helps prevent loss, and contributes to a safe and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.

Main Duties

Operations

-Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and all relevant legal and regulatory obligations.

-Carry out all duties in accordance with site Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-Regularly review and follow Assignment Instructions and recommend improvements where appropriate.

-Support loss prevention initiatives through proactive store patrols and visible security presence.

-Maintain professional standards at all times while representing both Mitie and ASDA.

-Hold and maintain a valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervision licence.

-Applicants with a CCTV licence are highly desirable, and certain locations may require a valid SIA CCTV qualification.

-Comply with all health and safety requirements and operational procedures.

Training & Development

-Complete all mandatory training requirements.

-Participate in ongoing development programmes and refresher training.

-Maintain all required licences, including timely renewal of your SIA licence.

-Develop operational knowledge through continuous learning and structured career development.

Security & Health & Safety

-Remain vigilant and report any health and safety concerns immediately.

-Monitor for suspicious activity, theft, anti-social behaviour, and security risks.

-Utilise CCTV systems where required to support investigations and incident management.

-Produce accurate incident reports and notebook entries.

-Respond professionally and effectively to challenging situations.

-Ensure all scheduled welfare and check calls are completed in accordance with site procedures.

We are looking for motivated individuals who hold a valid SIA licence and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of retail security. If you hold a CCTV qualification or have experience operating CCTV systems, we would particularly like to hear from you. Our ASDA contract offers varied and engaging duties where CCTV monitoring, loss prevention, customer interaction, and incident management are key aspects of the role., Essential:

-Previous retail security or security experience.

-Valid SIA Licence.

-Excellent communication and customer service skills.

-Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

-Strong observation and incident reporting skills.

Desirable:

-CCTV Licence.

-Retail loss prevention experience.

-Previous experience working as a Security Officer (Security Guard) within a retail environment.

-Experience using Aura incident reporting software.
