Security Officer

At Mitie, we are actively seeking experienced security professionals to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for our new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This presents an excellent opportunity to contribute to a professional and dedicated team that serves communities across the United Kingdom.Job Overview

-Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.

-Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security threats.

-Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.

-Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.

-Deliver a high standard of customer service and assist staff and visitors with any security-related matters.

-Perform routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.

-Comply with Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations, Security and Health & Safety

-Identify and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.

- Remain vigilant to any threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action before situations escalate.

-Maintain professional conduct when managing difficult situations and challenging customers.

- Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries promptly following any incident, which will be utilised as part of the Incident Report process.

-Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.

- Contact emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Prior Security Experience

-Valid DS Licence (essential)

-Ability to take proactive measures to mitigate disruption, loss, or damage.

-Demonstrated judgement and initiative, with the ability to immediately escalate matters when a situation requires additional support.
