Security officer

Hourly Rate: £13.45Mitie is recruiting experienced security professionals to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for our Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) contract. This presents an excellent opportunity to contribute to a professional and dedicated team serving communities throughout the United Kingdom.Role SummaryThis position requires flexibility to travel, as it encompasses multiple DWP sites across the South Wales region.

A valid full UK driving licence is essential.

-Ensure a safe and secure environment for DWP personnel, visitors, and assets.

-Conduct regular premise patrols to identify potential security risks.

-Respond effectively to emergencies and suspicious situations.

-Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary.

-Provide exceptional customer service and assist staff and visitors with security-related enquiries.

-Complete routine security inspections and submit incident reports as appropriate.

-Adhere to all Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.

Security and Health & Safety Responsibilities

-Identify and immediately report all health and safety hazards, actual or potential, on site.

-Maintain vigilance regarding threats or changes within the work environment and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks of disruption, loss, or damage.

-Exercise sound judgement and initiative by immediately escalating matters when a situation threatens to escalate.

-Demonstrate professional conduct when managing difficult situations and challenging individuals.

-Maintain accurate, detailed notebook entries promptly following any incident, which will form part of the formal incident reporting process.

-Adhere to operational schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and our client.

-Contact emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents promptly.

Demonstrable security experience

-Valid SIA licence (Door Supervisor licence preferred)

-Valid full UK driving licence
