Daytime Security Officer - Logistics Gatehouse Location: Knottingley We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Security Officer to join our security team at a busy logistics gatehouse site in Knottingley. This role is ideal for someone who is professional, committed, and confident working as part of a team while maintaining high standards of security, safety, and customer service. Key Details

- Cycle-to-work scheme Your Role As a Security Officer, you will help protect people, property, and assets while maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment. Your duties will include:
- Managing access and egress at the logistics gatehouse
- Signing drivers in and out of the site and maintaining accurate records
- Liaising with the on-site Loss Prevention team to verify bookings and authorise site access
- Monitoring vehicle and visitor movements in line with site procedures
- Using computer systems to process bookings, access requests, and site records
- Protecting people, property, and company assets
- Following Assignment Instructions and company policies
- Identifying hazards and taking appropriate action to reduce risk
- Maintaining professional standards at all times
- Ensuring your SIA licence remains valid
- Recording incidents accurately and completing required reports
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, management, visitors, contractors, and drivers
- Working as part of a core security team and supporting colleagues where required
- Adapting to operational changes and supporting improvements to site security What We Are Looking For To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid SIA licence
- A minimum of 5 years' continuous UK residency for security vetting purposes
- Strong observation and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good computer literacy and confidence using multiple computer systems
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A professional and reliable approach to work Desirable:
