Job Overview: As a Relief Security Officer, you will provide essential cover during staff absences, including annual leave and extra shift needs. You will be responsible for keeping patients, staff, and visitors safe and secure across both hospital sites. Your duties will include regular patrols of the premises, responding to emergencies, and ensuring a safe and secure environment. This role is both challenging and rewarding, offering the chance to make a real difference in a healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Safety and Security: Keep all people on hospital premises safe and secure.
  • Specialist roles: Using provided training to assist with Clinical demands.
  • Incident Response: Respond to security incidents and emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
  • Conduct Patrols: Regularly patrol buildings and grounds to maintain high standards.
  • CCTV Monitoring: Monitor security surveillance systems and manage the control room to prevent and detect incidents.
  • Crime Prevention: Deter unauthorised access, vandalism, and other criminal activities.
  • Customer Service: Provide professional help and directions to patients and visitors as required.
  • Conflict Resolution: Use training to de-escalate tense situations involving distressed people.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate and detailed records of all incidents and actions taken.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary staff, police, and other personnel to ensure complete safety protocols.
  • Essential Requirements: Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor licence. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work unassisted and collaboratively within a team environment. Physically capable of responding quickly to emergencies. Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
