Full Job Description

Job Overview The Security Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of physical security, risk mitigation, and incident response across Linklaters' London office and surrounding area offices as well as supporting the firm's global security framework. This role ensures the safety of people, assets, information, and facilities while maintaining the high standards expected of an international law firm. The Security Manager will work closely with Business Continuity, Facilities, HR, and senior leadership to deliver a secure, resilient, and well-governed environment. Main Duties

  • Operational Security Management - Lead Day-to-day security operations, including supervision of contracted security personnel, access control systems, CCTV, visitor management, and incident reporting.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation - Conduct regular security risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement proportionate controls aligned with firmwide risk appetite.
  • Incident Response & Investigation - Act as the primary point of contact for security incidents, coordinating responses, conducting investigations, and producing clear, actionable reports.
  • Policy & Compliance - Maintain and update security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ISO frameworks, and internal governance.
  • Business Continuity Support - Collaborate with the Business Continuity team on emergency planning, evacuation drills, crisis management exercises, and resilience initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective communication and alignment.
  • Technology & Systems Oversight - Manage security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms), ensuring they are maintained, upgraded, and optimised for operational needs.
  • Training & Awareness - Deliver security awareness programmes, briefings, and training for staff, including travel security and personal safety.
  • Vendor & Contract Management - Oversee security service providers, ensuring performance standards, SLAs, and contractual obligations are met.
  • Event Security Planning - Support the planning and delivery of secure internal and client events, including VIP visits and high-profile meetings.
  • What we are looking for
  • Proven experience in a corporate security management role, ideally within professional services, financial services, or another high-security, client-sensitive environment.
  • Strong understanding of physical security, risk management, and incident response best practices.
  • Experience managing security contractors, service providers, and technology platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and external agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, exercise sound judgement, and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 22301, SIA regulations, H&S legislation).
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong organisational and leadership capabilities.
  • Professional certifications (IOSH) are desirable but not essential.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining a secure and trusted environment.
  • Visit out of hours frequently and as per operational requirement .
