Security and Fire Officer

The role This is an exciting opportunity for a Security and Fire Officer to play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for pupils, staff, and visitors across Westminster School's historic estate. As a key member of our Site Services team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment across the School. This will include:

• Maintaining the security of the School premises and its contents, including patrolling buildings across the Estate
• Following procedures to facilitate access to buildings ensuring all buildings are securely locked each evening
• Monitoring alarms and CCTV systems
• Carrying out routine fire safety checks across the Estate, including inspections of fire doors, fire exits, emergency lighting, fire signage and ensuring escape routes remain clear
• Assisting Reception with greeting and receiving of visitors and contractors
Security experience would be advantageous, while a good working knowledge of health and safety and fire safety practices is essential. Experience of basic administration is also required, along with excellent teamwork skills. The successful candidate will also be professional, approachable and possess excellent customer service and communication skills. They will demonstrate strong situational awareness and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The role is full-time and requires flexibility to work shifts between 07:00am and 11:00pm Monday to Friday, and 07:00am to 07:00pm on Saturdays, as well as attendance at key School events.
