Full Job Description
We are a friendly and supportive healthcare team committed to delivering high-quality care to our patients and fostering a positive and inclusive working environment for our staff.
We are seeking a motivated, professional and caring individual to join our team in the role of Medical Secretary, working up to 22 hours per week. The successful applicant will provide a high standard of administrative support and patient service, contributing to the efficient and effective delivery of services., Liaise with secretarial colleagues re daily workload
Transcription of documents from various members of the team
Referral processing in line with protocols.
Processing out trays, including actioning relevant documents, despatching outgoing mail, searching for notes and photocopying
Arrange appointments for insurance and other medicals, and make ready all available files and information
Liaise with Office Manager regarding accounts, expenses and other financial matters
Receive and deal with queries on behalf of doctors from patients, hospital colleagues, etc
Ensure that doctors' surgeries are kept tidy and stocked with stationery and medical supplies
Monitoring and dealing with specified appointment slots.
Pulling and filing paper medical records
Liaise with secretarial colleagues re specialised clinics
Take part in ongoing training to diversify skills
Any other duties as designated by the Practice Manager or Office Manager
Because of the confidential nature of the work, you will be required to cover for secretarial colleagues during absences on annual leave and sick leave when required.
To adhere to timescales and key performance indicators.
Comply with all Practice policies and procedures, such as Mandatory training, Health and Safety, Risk
The postholder will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to our organisational values and to work in accordance with established policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills, a conscientious approach to work, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential.
