Full Job Description

Victoria Surgery are looking for a candidate to work 30 hours, Monday-Friday (with an allocated day off), to support our secretarial and administration team.,

  • Ensuring all contacts from patients and third parties, over the telephone and electronically, are greeted in a friendly helpful manner and handled courteously, efficiently and confidentially at all times.
  • Ensuring that all requests and enquiries are handled courteously, efficiently and in line with practice policies and procedures.
  • Completing filing and recording of patient information both electronic and manual is promptly handled with care and in line with practice policies and procedures.
  • Helping to ensure that the surgery premises are kept safe and tidy at all times.
  • Supporting the secretarial team in their duties and the clinicians in their role.
  • Co-ordinating SARS requests, confirming verification in place, on spreadsheet for processing and process using IGPR software under supervision of secretarial team.
  • Transcribing of dictations.
  • Processing all referrals via ERS and ensuring safety netting is carried out for all 2 week wait referrals.
  • E-mail monitoring, sorting and actioning information request e-mails.
  • Managing telephone enquiries.

    The applicant will need to have a keen eye for detail, the ability to work to processes, confidently complete work efficiently and within KPIs, and work well independently.

    Victoria Surgery is a well-established and friendly practice in the centre of town caring for a patient population of approximately 11,000. Our team recognises the importance of a good work-life balance.
  • Our practice team consists of 9 list holding GPs and a dedicated clinical team including, clinical pharmacists, nurse practitioner, 1 nurse and a trainee nursing associate. We are supported by a full management, administration and dispensary team. We are part of the Bury St Edmunds Primary Care Network and the successful candidate will work alongside a teamincluding paramedics, social prescriber, health and wellbeing coach, care coordinators and pharmacy technician.
