About the Department

The English Department at Outwood Academy Hindley is an innovative and successful department. You'll join a dedicated leadership team who are passionate about creating and delivering outstanding lessons within our department. Our enthusiastic educators are further supported by our highly skilled and experienced English Directors providing continuous CPD and individual support.

The department boasts an exceptionally well-resourced and culturally rich curriculum, featuring cutting-edge classroom technologies that empower teachers to deliver dynamic and inspiring learning experiences. We nurture a close-knit and supportive team environment - a true family dedicated to maximising the potential of every student and equipping them with the skills and knowledge to succeed in the future.

We are a highly successful department that has made significant improvements in recent years with our most recent results above national averages. We continue to develop our curriculum, ensuring students are exposed to a variety of texts and ideas to broaden their perspective and cultural capital and place a huge emphasis on the love of reading.

We are now seeking to appoint a vibrant and dynamic leader, as second in department, to join our fantastic team. We are totally committed to providing the very best education for every child, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive learning environment. We aim to instil a love of English and reading and a desire for knowledge in every child in our care.

Working Pattern: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
