Full Job Description
Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT) is pleased to offer fully funded sponsorship opportunities for qualified Nurses and Midwives to undertake the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) - School Nursing qualification (Level 7) and develop their career as a School Nurse. This SCPHN training post is fully funded by NHS England, and successful candidates will be appointed on Agenda for Change Band 6 (Annex 21) for the duration of the programme. Applicants must be NMC-registered nurses or midwives, hold a Level 6 qualification (minimum 2:1), demonstrate recent study at Level 7 within the past two years, and be able to commence the programme in September 2026 at King's College London. This is an exciting time to join LGT as we continue to shape and strengthen 5-19 Children and Young People's services. LGT is committed to the development of School Health Community Public Health Nursing, supported by a clear Public Health Nursing Strategy and a well-established training and supervision framework across School Health Service teams. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain specialist public health knowledge, leadership skills and practical experience within a supportive learning environment. The program is a 50/50 split between university-based study and practical, community-based experience Internal applicants who wish to be considered for a secondment opportunity should discuss with their line manager the suitability of a possible secondment
