Full Job Description
North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity for dynamic and enthusiastic registered Nurses and Midwives who want to progress their career in public health nursing. Do you have a passion and desire to empower families in delivering the Healthy Child Programme and improve outcomes for our local population., Students must successfully complete the 50% taught theory and 50% practice elements of the programme before they can register and practice as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse. Throughout the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing programme, the student must experience practice in a range of different settings and areas of practice to enable them to develop understanding of the breadth of Specialist Community Public Health Nursing practice. To develop an understanding of the principles of working in partnership with others to prevent the occurrence of needs and risks related to health and well-being.
This is a 13-month apprenticeship programme of education consisting of 50% taught theory and 50% practice that will lead to a PGDip/BSc (Hons) Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Degree in Health Visiting. On successful completion of the SCPHN qualification, students will be offered an interview for substantive HV post should one be available within North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust. Successful candidates will study with leading degree apprenticeship provider MMU and will be expected to be able to travel to both their place of work/placements that will be situated in Warrington and the University. Therefore, a full driving licence and use of a vehicle are essential., Students must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of local and national policies and how to apply them in everyday practice.

The training programme is full time from September 2023 for 13 months. The training is Monday to Friday and holidays are fixed throughout the programme. You will be joining an organisation that is both forward thinking and innovative with a strong commitment to training.
