Science Technician

We are recruiting for a technician to work in our Science Department. The department is well supported with three technicians and has many dedicated rooms which are all situated together. It is a friendly department with a well-qualified, committed team of subject specialists (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics), who enjoy working collaboratively., The contract is for 37 hours a week including a daily 30-minute unpaid lunch break (working pattern to be agreed with the Line Manager). The successful candidate will work term-time only, including 5 INSET days (39 weeks per annum). The salary range is Bristol Grade 8 (BG8), which is currently equivalent to £29,064, rising to £31,022 per annum (gross per annum paid pro rata plus holiday pay). This will be prorated according to working hours and working weeks per annum. The contract is permanent and is subject to a 6-month probationary period.

An interest, background, or qualification in Physics may be an advantage, but the expectation is that our technicians support the department across all the sciences. Technicians are also be expected to support the department with administrative tasks, e.g. ordering and trip administration.
