- A clear visionand understanding of the requirements of pupils with special educational needs
- Understanding and knowledge of current issues relating to education.
- A good, up to date knowledge of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and how to adapt them
- Evidence of managing one or more curriculum areas
- Evidence of teaching pupils with special educational needs and disabilities
- Practical understanding of the range of behaviour that pupils with SEN and ASC present
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4
- Evidence of teaching Science for Key Stage 4.
