A modern academy in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking to appoint a Science Teacher to join its Science faculty from September. This is a full-time teaching role within a structured department that focuses on delivering clear, consistent science education across the secondary years. The school is committed to improving outcomes in Science and continues to invest in teaching resources and laboratory facilities to support effective learning. About the Role You will be responsible for delivering Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, teaching a balanced curriculum covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics topics. Lessons will include a mixture of theory-based teaching and practical laboratory work designed to reinforce scientific understanding. You will contribute to preparing students for GCSE Science examinations and support them in developing confidence in both written and practical assessments. This role involves working closely with departmental colleagues to maintain consistent teaching standards and share planning resources. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teach core concepts across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Plan and supervise practical experiments safely
  • Prepare students for GCSE Science examinations
  • Monitor and record student progress
  • Maintain safe laboratory environments
  • Work collaboratively with Science department staff
  • Promote positive behaviour and classroom engagement
