School Nurse

Provide treatment to students as needed, including managing minor injuries and illnesses
Assess and respond to pupil health needs
Administer medications safely, in accordance with the school's medicine policy.
Develop and implement individual healthcare plans
Monitor and document student's health conditions, observing changes in health.
Support students with chronic health problems including co-ordinating care plans and liaising with parents and other health professionals
Chaperone students to medical appointments
Deliver health education (e.g. hygiene, nutrition, mental health awareness) and promote healthy lifestyle choices
Support school-wide wellbeing initiatives
Promote safeguarding and child protection practices
Maintain accurate, confidential medical records
Ensure compliance with GDPR and safeguarding policies
Track incidents, treatments, and outcomes
Liaise with parents/carers regarding student health
Work with external professionals (GPs, health services, CAMHS)
Advise staff on student medical needs and procedures
Work flexibly, including weekends, on-call rotas and school functions as required.
Undertake training and professional development relevant to the role.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times.
Carry out any other duties commensurate with the post and salary level.
