School Governor

The Governing Body works closely with the Headteacher to ensure that, through the delivery of a rich and ambition curriculum and support for their personal development, our school is full of happy, confident people who are motivated to work hard to achieve their individual potential in a safe and creative environment.

As a governor, your role is vital to the running of the school. As part of a team, you will be responsible for:

· - Developing the vision and strategic direction for the school

· -Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

· - Holding the school to account to ensure that every pupil has the best possible education

· -Engaging with pupils, staff, parents and the school community to understand their views

To fulfil this role, you will be required to:

· - Attend Full Governing Body meetings six times a year each lasting about two hours

· -Make termly visits into school to monitor school development

· -Read and prepare for meetings
